David May

Growing up at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and coming of age while teaching under the sun and stars of the West, David is a life-long learner, lover of wilderness, and experiential educator. His focus on wilderness education was sparked in Patagonia a decade ago as a student on a semester course with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Now a senior NOLS instructor and adjunct instructor at Prescott College, David practices and teaches a variety of outdoor skills in myriad ecosystems across the Americas throughout the four seasons of the year. He endeavors to facilitate group development, coach personal growth, and foster love, intimacy and respect for our more-than-human world. At the root of David's education philosophy is a belief that the teaching of 'technical' outdoor skills should always be in service to connection with the ancient, sacred rhythms of life on the wild earth.
